The Flow Test Measure of Your Internet Speed
Mi Test Develocidad assesses the speed of your connection both for downloading and for sending data. Our test de Velocidad measures how much data you can receive and send in one second. The download speed indicates the time it takes your connection to download a digital file from the internet. Thus, the reception speed determines the speed and comfort of many daily uses, such as downloading a mobile application on your smartphone or watching a streaming video in high definition.
Digital data transmission also takes place from your computer or phone to the internet. The upload speed corresponds to the data's quantity that your connection can send in one second to the networks. The transfer speed is particularly essential to send an email with an attachment, publish a video on Youtube, or save your files on the "cloud" type of online storage space.
Finally, Test De Velocidad analyzes the response time of your internet connection. Commonly called "ping" or "latency," this value indicates the time required for a small data packet to make a round trip between your terminal and our server. The lower the result, the more responsive your connection is, particularly sought after by online gamers. The latency time is calculated in milliseconds (ms): it is generally less than 10 ms in optical fiber and between 20 and 80 ms in ADSL.
In addition to speed and ping measurements, Test De Velocidad also publishes statistical indicators to compare your speed test results with those of the thousands of Internet users who have checked their connection speed in recent months. On the results page of your speed test, Test De Velocidad provides several indicators and in particular:
- General averages (download flow/upload speed/latency)
- Averages per operator (Telecom / Free)
- Averages by type of connection (High-speed, Very High-speed, 4G / 5G mobile)
- Rankings (with download, upload, and ping records)
By default, these averages are national and therefore concern all the tests carried out in mainland Spain. By entering your municipality in the form just before launching your test, you will obtain local statistics based solely on the flow tests carried out in your municipality—an excellent way to compare the speed of your connection to that of your neighbors.
